Database connection issue

Is there any way to specify multiple connections for different models?

Here is my scenario:
I have a User model:

• $connection="default_db";
• uses LogsActivity;

I have another model Post:

• $connection="different_db"
• also has use LogsActivity;

I expect the package to respect $connection value of Laravel models:

• add logs to default_db.activity_log table for User model
• add logs to different_db.activity_log table for Post

But it doesn't work that way, so how can I achieve that?
