This is for collecting known minor rendering defects. E.g.

  • Software works but:
  • Clipping problems
  • Weird characters, but still readable
  • Vertical rendering issues
  • Etc.

For software failures/conflicts, please log against #426.

Touhou series should't use Mactype or GDI++, as it will make subtitles covered by black lanes.

In Firefox, on some websites, MacType flickers on and then off until a CSS animation occurrs, where it turns on for half a second then its off again. I'm running Firefox 63.0b10 on Windows 10 build 17133 on a laptop with an i7-7700HQ and a GTX 1050.

Really annoying, looking for a fix but can't find one.

Hello @snowie2000 and @sammilucia, great to see MacType development continuing!

Currently, I am still using the latest official 2017 release - I haven't tried the betas yet.

This is not a major issue at all, however I noticed that the splash screen on Adobe CC apps shows very bold, aliased Japanese characters when cycling through the loaded components, but only when the splash appears above another window - as in the example below:

ps_on white

When the splash appears on the desktop (i.e. not above any other windows), the Japanese characters display smoothly, as in the example below:

ps_on top

Again, this is not a big deal...just something that I have noticed over time, so thought I would mention it in this thread.

Good luck preparing for the full 2018 release!

@jmbattle0 I noticed this problem before, and yes, it's not a big deal. I thought it was due to the programmer incorrectly extract text from the background by scanning for alpha changes, like issue #440.

And interestingly enough, this glitch is gone in the latest beta. Maybe, they are indeed the same problem.

Great stuff, thank you very much for your support.

I shall look forward to trying the full release, once it becomes available.
