Enabling PerfMode Does Not Work on Catalina #15

When I attempt to run the below code to enable performance mode on my Catalina Qemu VM, I get the error shown below it. The error is received AFTER I type in the password for the sudo request.

Error:
nvram: Error setting variable - 'boot-args': (iokit/common) not permitted
