How to import STEP files with colors in replicad

Hi, I am trying to import a few step files that have colors. On digging a little I found that replicad uses STEPControl_Reader which doesnt support colors instead of using the STEPCAFControl_Reader class from opencascade. So I wanted to know if there is a way to import step files and also export them with colors using replicad. It would be really helpful for the application I am building. Thanks.

It should be possible, you would need to create a custom build that add the STEPControl_Reader. If you assume that the read works similarly to the write, you could get inspiration from this code
