Schedule recording for channels that are currently not broadcasting

The record function only works for channels that are currently broadcasting. If the channel is offline, the recording option is grayed out. Is it possible to have it enabled, so that I can schedule a recording of a channel that will come online later?

EDIT: Also is it possible to keep the recording going even if the channel goes offline temporarily? I noticed that some of the channels in my feed cuts out briefly in between programs, and this would interrupt the recording.
