This issue seems to have popped up recently. Problem was occurring under QLMarkdown 1.0.15 but updating to 1.0.17 didn't fix it. The issue is that markdown files on my desktop display properly in quicklook. Files in my Documents folder or on any of my mounted disk images do not display properly - I just get an empty window. With QLMarkdown disabled, those files do display as plain text via the QLStephen plugin. I tried various fixes, none of which worked: (a) re-installed QLMarkdown, (b) gave QLMarkdown full disk access, (c) disabled all other quicklook extensions under System Preferences -> Extension, (d) disabled QLStephen, etc. I did notice that under System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Privacy -> Files and Folders, QLMarkdown.app lists "Desktop Folder" access but not Downloads or Documents. I don't see a way to add those but since adding Full Disk Access didn't work, I'm not sure it would make any difference.
