[FEATURE REQUEST] Add algorithm support for salt-keys

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Allow choice of for example ECDSA or Ed25519 when making salt keys.

Describe the solution you'd like
Allow salt-key to generate different key types. And obviously allow salt to use them.

Describe alternatives you've considered
Using RSA keys.

Please Note
Addition, doesn't break existing setups since they'll keep using RSA keys, this just allows them to use different key types.
