Android 9 Pie and up

Google Lens Suggestions is built-in to cameras

Android 8 Oreo

Google Screen Search: Google Screen Search allows consumers to scan QR codes without an app instantly. All one has to do is point their camera at the QR code, long-press the Home button and click on ‘What’s on my screen?’ The QR code link will be available for consumers to open. If the smartphone’s screen search is not on, open the Google app and tap Navigation. From the settings, enable Screen Search. Google Lens: An AI interface by Google, Google Lens recognizes everything in the camera including QR codes. It is available on both the camera app as well as the Google Assistant. Simply download Google Lens and start scanning QR codes or use Google Lens from Google Assistant.

Android 7 and below

These require an app to scan QR codes.

Android Market Share:

https://www.appbrain.com/stats/top-android-sdk-versions https://gs.statcounter.com/android-version-market-share/mobile-tablet/worldwide https://developer.android.com/about/dashboards - Ends 5/7/2019, which would explain why Pie is only 10.4% when compared with the other two, which show pie at ~34-40%.

Google Play Console lets us see what versions are running Connec (check—is this just for Kotlin, or does it work for React Native too?) so we know what to optimise for our users.

Google Play Link

Searched through Apple Developer Terms of Service/guide and found no rules having to do with Google Play links. I believe we are all okay!
