I would welcome some deeper insight into the PXE server creation as I am trying to wrap my head around it.
My home network is 192.168.0.0/16 because a) I'm too lazy to VLAN and b) I have a LOT of IoT devices kicking around. My firewall is DHCP for the network but serves only 192.168.255.x addresses.
My thought is that I would set up the PXE server on a FreeBSD jail with its own IP address but, that IP is going to be on the 192.168.X.X network and therefore covered by the DHCP server. I think I would benefit from some understanding of clarity on what can and what cannot be used in IP terms.
Also, what is the process for actually standing up the PXE server in terms of OS etc?
EDIT:
OK, so I was hung up on the first part around the main.yml and hadn't gone on to read the next part. I figure this is intended to be a completely standalone network, in my case probably on the 172.16.0.0/12 network which would then require standalone hardware for the PXE server running Debian or Rocky Linux. I think I have an old RPi sitting around somewhere.
