I just finished writing a React book which will will come out in March. Because of how long the publishing process takes, the React Router Chapter was written 12 months ago. Of course, none of the examples work now with v6. I'm doing my final review of the proofs this week, and I have an opportunity to make really small changes, but nothing like the overhaul that would be required to have the chapter be about v6.
What I'm wondering is whether v5 react router code will "just work" once the backward compatibility package is available, or whether there's a different version of react-router-dom 6 that will need to be installed or a separate package (and can you tell me what that package will be called so I can have readers install it along with react-router-dom)? If it's not going to be automatic, I'm going to have to update the chapter to say install react-router-dom@5.3.0.
thanks for any help you can give!
