Are you planning to keep versions across codebase in-sync?

  • App in chrome webstore has version 0.0.9
  • package.json has no version
  • manifest.json has version 0.0.7 in master

You could extract version from package.json into manifest.json + follow the sem-ver to keep an easier update on fixes + refactorings, vs breaking changes.
