thanks for the suggestion.

I think this would be something to work with @dicook and @mitchelloharawild.

I understand there is a process to submit articles using R Markdown through rjtools (https://rjournal.github.io/submissions.html#rmarkdown-to-output-html-and-pdf).
Offering a template now for Quarto would mean that article would be submitted in LaTeX form I believe (https://rjournal.github.io/submissions.html#traditional-latex-format)

We are definitely happy to help create a template for the R Journal - I think it would be best to do that with the R Journal team too.
