Reasons for the request

The project dataclasses-jsonschema is owned by and was created by Simon Knibbs who was an employee at Gigaclear. The project is used within Gigaclear. Unfortunately Simon is now deceased and Gigaclear would like to take on maintenance of the project. We already have some improvements in a private fork which we are now using internally but would like to make public.

Simon Knibbs worked at Gigaclear before my time, but was much beloved here. Here’s a death notice published by his sister on his LinkedIn account:
