Due to the lack of time and the fact that I am no longer using Confluence Python library for work, I would be happy to handover the role of maintainer for this problems.

@ssbarnea I'm looking into the code, and use Confluence for work (which is why I need it). Can offer to help.

@wowsuchnamaste Well, you just got yourself some extra rights now. Feel free to put them to a good use.

@ssbarnea Would you mind if we touch base vie email/slack/irc or equivalent? I've got one or two questions I believe you have the answers to, and it would be of great help.

Sure, you can always find me on #irc (same username as github), and sometimes on skype too.

Hey, I've been using this project at work and have been asking them if I can commit anything upstream. I may invent at-home projects that enable me to do this. Mainly I'd like to update the documentation on the pythonhosted site https://pythonhosted.org/confluence/ and also if possible update the package version on PyPi https://pypi.python.org/pypi/confluence

Not exactly sure how to go about that, but I had to read the code to determine if it could do what I wanted, where I would've expected the same info to be available in the documentation.

Hi @zenware,

documentation updates are most welcome! The content on pythonhosted.org is generated with sphinx (see the .docs/ folder in the repository). The documentation for sphinx is quite extensive and might be a good place to start: http://www.sphinx-doc.org/en/stable/contents.html

When it comes to updates to PyPi, I believe this must be done by @ssbarnea (please correct me if I'm wrong, Sorin :) ). The content on PyPi is built from master, which is a protected branch.

If you decide to contribute, I suggest you follow these steps:

  1. Fork the repository.
  2. Create a branch for your changes.
  3. Do your magic and commit it to your new branch.
  4. Create a pull request from your fork to the original repo.

I for one would love to see your contributions!

@wowsuchnamaste
So actually it's using bits of Sphinx/rst that auto-generate the documentation well enough that I don't need to make any changes, but for some reason pythonhosted doesn't have any updates... I wonder if @ssbarnea has to do something to update the remote documentation as well. Running 'make html' generated all the documentation I would've loved to have on that site.

So anyways it seems like the majority of my desires are things I can't do on my own, however I'll take a look around the code and see if I can think of how to make any improvements there as well :)

bump! I am still looking to handle maintenance of this project to someone new as I no longer have time for it. I may help only with generic CI aspects that are common across the entire pycontribs projects.
