Steps include:

revoking the SSL certificate, if applicable
archiving the code repository, if applicable
removing all configuration for the site from the princeton_ansible repo
powering down the VMs
waiting a week or two in case we're being hasty
if nobody complains, deleting the VMs
requesting the removal of all network rules
deleting an alias from a shared server, if applicable (see Retire transcribe.princeton.edu princeton_ansible#3602)
