  • just get channels for all ffmpeg (done)
  • include inst data for aif files (done)
  • make it output codec (u-law/mu-law)

1- worst case scenario, use the converting method, be done with it. Save metadata for later. Why? FFMPEG can't guess number of samples for MP3 correctly... doesn't know about metadata and stuff.
2- ideally, use libsndfile... doing things all by hand is bad...
