Just jumped into the deep end and did a force upgrade to 24.04. Had some issues getting my Logitech g502x working with high-resolution scrolling..
Solaar still appears to work to force-enable it on the mouse, but now I'm getting 120° wheel deltas on every mm of scrolling.
Libinput is still as helpful to customize as ever - i start dicking around with udev rules to try and override some stuff, thirty minutes in and I have nothing to show for it but a giant headache...
Cue having an epiphany, libinput's unhelpfulness is predicated on the philosophy that "your DE should give you a way to customize that". Five years of GNOME has trained me to read this as "go jump off a bridge you stupid user", but maybe.. might I need to check the settings... ?
I open the Cosmic settings, drag the scroll speed slider down to the left, and everything works without so much as a whisper of "what's a udev?".
You guys rock, thanks for bringing a desktop that respects its users to life. Can't wait to see where this ends up!
