Can Podverse access the mic on my phone while I listen to a podcast?

Currently Podverse has a configurable jump ahead button (seconds to skip) and configurable jump back button (seconds to rewind).

Feature request:
While I'm walking (driving, working out, farming etc) and listening to my pod and a commercial comes on, I would like to say AHEAD 30 and the pod would move ahead in the timeline 30s - and of course BACK 30 to repeat the last 30s (or whatever has been configured). Then my listening would be hands-free and my phone can stay in my pocket or in my backpack or bag. This feature would be mostly to get around all the commercials that are being inserted to podcasts.
