Currently the PHP 7 introduction recommends 6 different online resources and 8 different books for learning C. I don't think this will help people. I would suggest recommending only a single resource as a starting point (some kind of short overview of C for those entirely unfamiliar) and maybe have an appendix that lists many different resources.

I'm all right with that @nikic , feel free to patch it, to reorganize things , etc... ;-)

I'm OK to add a "resources" chapter with some links to important concepts, and just keep a line in introduction and a link to such a "resources" chapter 👍

as a beginner with C , I found this resource is helpful and easy to go with -at least for me- , http://www.eskimo.com/~scs/cclass/notes/top.html
