[Feature Request] Grid layout

Is it possible to add a grid layout.
It could show all entries in a grid layout with a set amount of columns and/or rows (if it fits inside the size of the window)
I'm thinking that the configurations will look something like this:

layout = grid | horizontal | vertical
columns = 2
rows = 1

By using the new layout option, the horizontal option will have to be deprecated or something. I don't know how the new grid layout option should be implemented in the config file.
