Triggered timer

For testing timing of circuits, it would be nice to have a stopwatch to time things to get an idea of how long something might actually take. I picture it as a box that allows for custom resolution with 3 pins. 1 reset, which obviously sets the clock to 0. Pin 2 can be set to either start the timer on high and pin 3 going high stops the timer. A second option is timer runs when pin 2 goes high, stops when low, and 3rd pin is hidden.
