Unable to get winevdm to detect HAXM #1229

Describe the bug
Despite having HAXM installed, winevdm doesn't detect it whatsoever, throws me this error every single time:

I also made sure haxm is running and working properly by doing the cdm command:

Expected behavior
Applications working properly with HAXM set in the .ini file.

  • OS: Windows 10 Pro 22H2

intel/haxm#472 intel/haxm@dc6195a may have broken HAX_VCPU_GET_REGS compatibility.
As a temporary workaround, try installing a HAXM less than 7.8.0.

HAXM is EOL, should the backend be removed?
