Can't setup Pages to deploy my friendly.github.io site

I've setup a repo, https://github.com/friendly/friendly.github.io/, to be used as my github landing page, and pushed content to it.

I think this should be deployed from /root, but when I try to set this up via Settings -> Pages, the SAVE button is greyed out.
What is wrong?

follow these steps, hope it will be works

Settings -> Pages:

Source: Select the main branch.
Folder: Select /root.
Commit and Push Changes: Ensure you have committed and pushed any recent changes to the main branch.

Enable GitHub Pages:

Ensure the URL is displayed after selecting the source and clicking "Save." The URL should look something like https://friendly.github.io/.

I've done all the above.

I also enabled Github Pages under the settings for the repo,

I see the link under About:

But I still can't save the changes under Settings -> Pages. Trying the link to the site page gives a 404

Ok, perhaps it took a little while, but github pages now seems to be working.

But I'm getting a [friendly/friendly.github.io] Run failed: pages build and deployment email. Seems to be something with jekyll.

Re-built the index.html and now it works!
