What is the type of request?
Repository Management
Details of the request
Please create a new repository in the opensearch-project org with the name [remote-vector-index-builder].
Initial maintainers should be { Rajrahane, navneet1v, vamshin, jed326, yigithub, rchitale7, owenhalpert, neetikasinghal }
Additional information to support your request
The repository will host the code for the Remote Vector Index Build Service.
By harnessing the massive parallelism of GPUs, we dramatically boost the indexing performance of the OpenSearch vector engine. We aim to achieve faster index build times compared to CPU-based solutions, all while maintaining a compelling price-performance ratio.
The Remote Vector Index Build Service is a Standalone Component. It will not be released as part of the Opensearch Distribution.
The repository will publicly host the code for the service worker-node image. Hence the request for a new repository.
When does this request need to be completed?
Wed 2/12 or as soon as possible.
