This ticket is for an ongoing reminder of potential toggles that might be deprecated. If someone needs DEPR work to do, someone could review this sheet to see if any of these toggles are ready to deprecate. We may want to remove the simple ones first. For ones that are not yet ready, we may want to adjust the removal date annotation.

See Google spreadsheet Temporary toggle DEPR candidates (as of 2023-08) for the list of potential toggles.

Note:

  • First search the DEPR board to see if the toggle already has a DEPR ticket. Or maybe the ticket annotation for the toggle has a link.
  • If not, you'll create the DEPR ticket following the DEPR process. You can also update the ticket annotation for the toggle to point the DEPR ticket.
  • Finally, someone can pick up the new DEPR ticket for removal.

Note: Maybe this gets turned into a how-to? Maybe this gets more details about how to use the annotations appropriately? For example, searching the spreadsheet for target_removal_date in the distant past. This relates to #283
