This issue is a portion of the effort to reduce the potential security risks of running the JMX Metrics Gatherer as a separate executable.

Describe the solution you'd like
Communicate with the metrics gatherer using a Java Properties file, which is already supported by the Metrics Gatherer. This is intended to reduce the risk of any parameters sent as command line arguments being exploitable.
