- 2 eggs
- 2 cups buttermilk
- Or 1/3 cup vinegar plus milk to make 2 cups
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup shortening + 2 Tbsp oil
- Mix Dry Ingredients
- Mix Wet Ingredients
- Combine

- Mix Dry Ingredients
- pour buttermilk (but don't mix)
- melt shortening and oil (just barely)
- Slowly mix with the milk (but try not to mix in the dry ingredients yet)
- Crack the egg, and slowly add while mixing (again trying to avoid mixing the dry ingredients yet)
- Mix Everything (not a ton, just a little)
