Hello all — firstly, apologies for the radio silence on recent issues and PRs. As you can probably tell, I simply have not had the time to maintain this project.
Push was intended to exist as a) a solution to all the hard to implement or non-functional SFTP extensions within VSCode, and b) a stop-gap solution for my own purposes until more effective deployment methods became available.
With the development of many other vscode extensions as well as multiple more reliable methods of deployment such as CI via BitBucket pipelines, Github actions, any so many others, Push is becoming ever more redundant in our fast paced evolving ecosystem.
As such, the time I would need to spend keeping Push up to date far outweighs any real benefits. It has continued to work in VSCode for well over four years now, despite very few updates, and it perfectly suffices for my needs.
I will be altering the license for this software and allowing people to still use the extension but it will be provided with absolutely no warranty or guarantees and will be delisted from the VSCode extension library.
If you do take on your own version of Push, I am more than happy for you to try your hand at putting it on the extension library, but please do rename it beforehand.
The issues section will be closed and the information within this issue will be moved to the README in due course.
I will use this opportunity to thank those of you who did contribute in the past, and apologise again to those of you who's contributions or issues were never realised. Open source software is hard work sometimes 😅
