Returning default values when defineCachedFunction isn't cached

The first time a SWR function is loaded without data it can take a long time to load. Is there anyway to accomplish this easily?

export const cachedFn = defineCachedFunction(async (id: string) => {
  return {
    state: await getStateThisTakesALongTime(id)
  }
})

For example in this case, I can return a PENDING state.

My thinking (and I havent tried this yet) is I can probably do something like this in the calling function

        if (cachedItem == null) {
            const cacheValue = await opts.cacheMissValue(key, ...args)
            await cache.setItem(cacheKey, { "expires": 0, "value": cacheValue })
        }

        return cachedFn(...args)
    }
}
}

Is this silly? Is there a better way to do this? Maybe a nitro native way of doing it?
