Or at least I can't figure out how it's supposed to work. Normally there's a text box for "stroke" and one for "translation" right?

The is something like content://com.android.externalstorage.documents/document/primary%3A etc.

This is what it should look like. Is the path just so long that it takes up the whole screen?

Looks like that your device is much larger than mine, or the default font size is much smaller.

Update: with a smaller font size, the other text boxes are partially visible, but why is the content of the pop up box not scrollable?

It looks like you could resize the box to be taller (one finger on the title bar and another somewhere else on the box), that should help a bit.

Making it scrollable would help but changes to make the information more concise would be better. It's probably best to limit the dictionary field to one line. Eliminating the field labels or having an option to reduce their size would help too.
