Design review call Whiteboard

2024-06-25

  • Create new whiteboard
  • Whiteboard view
    • Hide viewer header bar and merge actions and close button into the whiteboard header #51
    • 🟡 Style looks good, Highlight color is purple, could be our primary color
    • 🟡 Displaynames should be used (should already be the case), to double check
    • 🟡 Check if excalidraw already has a nice overflow mechanism for lots of avatars being shown, if so remove the users button (top right) - Check if applies to us
    • Libraries
      • Shall we hide them for now? Would still be nice to have -> keep it for now
    • 🟢 Help dialog should work
      • Keep the links, maybe add our repo and attribute to excalidraw as library
      • Hide in enterprise
      • Help link back into the menu and remove the button on the bottom right
    • AI interesting for mid-term
    • 🟢 UI elements look most likely fine, we could look at exact values for --border-radius-element ... but should mostly fine
    • Menu
      • Canvas background buttons ideally be squares
      • Zoom buttons look a bit too small with margin
      • Image export should be back
    • Contextual actions based on drawing tool
      • Boxes for colors should be square
    • 🔴 Insert image from Nextcloud (still to check)
    • Uploaded images are not shared/stored #56
    • Check for excalidraw upstream issues
    • Stroke settings, maybe keep per user/document, for later
    • Embed interactive in text/talk
  • The background isn’t white by default (at least maybe in the hosted instance), is that something we can change
  • The default font is a bit comic-style and it looks a bit non-serious – for the templates @nimishavijay used the monospace font which looks nice, so maybe we should use that?
  • If possible, we can also set the scribbliness to what Nimisha Vijay used for the templates since that looks much cleaner and well designed.
