Obfuscated javascript files

Why are some files in the repository obfuscated, this makes it a lot harder to debug the code or make small changes if desired.

Is it possible to get an non obfuscated version of all files?

For example the file: Magento/view/frontend/web/js/vendor/myparcel.js

In our case we want to make some small changes to the interface for a particular client who is using myparcel in Magento and also to solve the bug #676 as already mentioned by someone else in the issue list, but this doesn't make it easier.
