I have recently started using MuseScore again (I confess, just after the release of version 4 whose features really impressed me positively).
I think it would be great to introduce in MS the ability to have multichannel output, to allow, for example, routing each part's output to an arbitrary independent output.
In this way, it would be possible to record the audio of each part on a separate track of a DAW (Reaper for example).
I do not know if this was already possible in earlier versions of MS. From a quick investigation (MS3 3.2.3 on Ubuntu Studio 22.04) I understand that only a stereo output was possible (I was reading a few things about it here as well).
The interesting thing, which I think is already planned in some upcoming release, will be support for using Jack (already possible in MS3). It was this I confess that was the inspiring reason that led me to think, almost automatically, about the possibility of multiple audio outputs.
But I am certainly simplifying the matter much more than it really is, especially in terms of MS's internal audio system architecture.
I was just wondering if any reasoning has already been done along these lines. I think the multichannel theme might be an interesting feature to put on the todo list.
