Supporting multiple 2GP branches

Hello, how might we support multiple 2GP branches for a single package with D2X?

In situations where multiple teams might be working inside a single package across multiple features in parallel, they can isolate their work with beta branching.

I was thinking about forking the repo and passing in a github variable specifying for the -b flag. Is this approach sensible? I'd love any feedback!
