Description
Provide users with a page showing the changes that took place between revisions. This could also be used on the Approval History page, showing the changes between approval requests.

Goal

  • Establish a historical context for users approaching a recipe they're unfamiliar with.
  • Provides an easy-to-follow 'paper trail' of changes.

Level of Effort
Low+. Diffing recipes is easy, the hard part is designing the UI.

I had a prototype of this working on the old UI, but I can't get that branch running to take a screenshot of it for the ticket.

I did manage to find this screenshot demonstrating how this could be applied to the History Timeline:

The +1/2 Changes links here were expandable to show which fields were updated. Then, you would go to another page to see what the actual value changes were.

@MattGrimes @gregglind , does this sound like a valuable tool for you and your teams?

That would be extremely helpful to know what fields were modified and be able to see that quickly in the history panel. +1 from me.
