Compatibility with python-snappy

When I deflate using this library I cannot inflate using https://github.com/intake/python-snappy (or Pandas and PyArrow). And vise versa, if I inflate with python-snappy I cannot deflate the this ruby gem. Both of these libraries are referenced from the Google Snappy page. I tried using the standard and Hadoop modes. I'm new to Snappy. Am I missing something?
