After reading issue #260, it sounds like the waveform of a long file doesn't render all at once because of the amount of time it would take. This is why I have to zoom in and click on a segment just to get the waveform for that piece of the file.
This is understandable, but I wanted to know if there is an option to toggle this off, i.e. ask the application to render the entire waveform when I first load the file. Some of the cuts I need to make depend on me seeing the file's entire audio waveform at once, so it would be extremely useful to not have to build this up by clicking through segments on the timeline. Similarly, it would also be useful to see a rough approximation of the waveform of a long file when zoomed out to 1x.
I know this would take the application a minute to build up when the file first loads. I don't mind waiting. If it's not currently available, could we make it a feature request?
