Description of the new feature / enhancement

Hi support,

I'm a Foxit support. We have some customers to contact us to request the new version 2023 and 13 in Winget to be released. However, we don't have right to handle it. Can you please provide us with some details about the new version release? When will they be released? Or can you please expedite the release process?

Thank you so much. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Anyone can create a manifest for a package and submit it under https://github.com/microsoft/winget-pkgs — the packages repository. Most packages are community-maintained, so it's really a case of someone noticing a package is out-of-date, creating an issue over at winget-pkgs repository for an update request, and then a contributor adding a new manifest for that package.

cc @denelon This issue can be moved over to the packages repo

However, we don't have right to handle it.

If you're interested, as a publisher you could take control of the package submissions. You can integrate a manifest creator tool like winget-create into your CI pipelines to automatically submit a new version to the winget packages repository with a new release. There is also planned work for "verified developer" process.

Though looks like both the packages are up-to-date in the packages repository

Thanks. There is only Foxit PDF Editor 13 available, while the version 2023 for Foxit PDF Editor is not released now. Can you give me some instructions on releasing new version? Is the following link instruction? https://github.com/microsoft/winget-create#using-windows-package-manager-manifest-creator-in-a-cicd-pipeline

That link contains content useful for when you want to automate the submissions in a CI/CD pipeline.

If you just want to make a quick/manual submission, you can get started by reading the "Submitting a package" guide over at microsoft/winget-pkgs. There is also an Open at Microsoft Episode - Contributing to Windows Package Manager available if you prefer video over text.
