Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes
The issue still occurs when using Insiders build as well.
VS Code Version: 1.96.2 x64
OS Version: Arch Linux + Wayland DM
Steps to Reproduce:
Open VSCode
Everything runs fine for the first couple of seconds (everything interacts normally), and it immediately crashes 2s later. It also crashes if left alone with no interaction.
VSCode still crashes when running with --enable-platform-features or not. On a clean re-install, it still crashes.
when running with crash-reporter-directory flag, it does not give me any *.dmp files in the designated directory, but it does create some new files/directories. I have attached them here. crash_dump.zip crash logs when running with code --verbose
I managed to fix the issue. For some stupid reason, my cursor set in nwg look was different than what is set in Hyprland. At the time of error, my cursor set for GTK Apps were on the Breeze cursor set, but my cursor on Hyprland was Adawaita. This was also the main issue that was causing inconsistencies in cursor styles in between GTK and other apps as well.
After resetting my styles to default, VSCode works without issues.
