stdin closed when pressing break key ??

I ran in to a lit hiccup using the moar pager in wt. When moar is open and I press the break key, moar panics and terminates. Apparently, this happens because stdin gets closed. walles/moar#126 Why does pressing Break key, alone, cause stdin to close? This behavior happens regardless of shell. It does not happen in WezTerm or Alacritty, but it does also happen in conhost. Is this expected behavior?
