Expected Behavior

Completion successfully.
A vhdx image gets created.

Actual Behavior

Failure reported.
Out of 10 import command 6-7 times below failure occurs, the remaining 3-4 times completes successfully.

Actually setting swap (even disable) or setting memory to various value did not change end result. oom-kill reproducible in about 60-70% of the cases.
Otherwise wsl images run smoothly on the same machine .

Has there been a fix? 3/21/2023 I'm getting the same error. My import has taken the .vhdx file and created some temporary directories which are empty.

Yes - this should be fixed in https://github.com/microsoft/WSL/releases/tag/1.1.5.
