Windows Eclipse has issues accessing mounted WSL file system. #6095

Environment

Windows build number: Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.18363.1110]
Your Distribution version: Release:        20.04
Whether the issue is on WSL 2 and/or WSL 1: WSL 2

Steps to reproduce

  1. Mount WSL file system root:

  1. Download and install Eclipse (Mine is 2020-09, C++ dev package)

  2. Attempt to create a workspace on the Linux volume

  3. Get error:

  1. I tried creating the workspace on a Windows volume and then importing projects from the Linux volume, but I saw strange behaviors like empty directories, etc.

WSL logs:

Expected behavior

I was expecting to get a normal Eclipse workspace or projects that I could edit.

Actual behavior

See above...

Faceplants on LockFile. /dupe #5762. Work around would be a Samba share. Or wait on #938.

Hi! We've identified this issue as a duplicate of another one that already exists in this repository. This specific instance is being closed in favor of tracking the concern over on the referenced thread.
