📝 Provide a description of the new feature

What is the expected behavior of the proposed feature? What is the scenario this would be used?

The FancyZones 2 pane priority grid is one of my go-to setups. On a dual monitor setup, I setup FancyZones on each monitor with the priority grid layout but it would be more suitable if the larger pane could be next to one another and the narrower panes on the outside of each monitor.

This would bring my focus into the center of my workstation and better utilize my dual monitor setup.

There are likely also more scenarios with the in-built setups that could be better suited to additional customization over adding more panes.

If you'd like to see this feature implemented, add a 👍 reaction to this post.

@enricogior I had thought about this but the editor doesn't give you the flexibility of ensuring that the widths or heights of the zones are the same based on pixels (or at least I can't see that option).

I can resize them by dragging but I can only take the best guess to make sure that they are the same size on both monitors.

I would also lose the flexibility to add more zones freely as you can with the pre-defined options.

We currently do not do pixel precision but is something we've been discussing and is tracked #1032. you may be able to hand edit the zone file.

Not sure I understand why you would add the tag "Resolution helped user" when your suggestion was plainly NOT helpful. The OP was asking for a new feature in the Zone Editor. You cannot currently flip the small side of the priority layout so that the small side is on the left.

For this scenario, the honest best solution is create a custom grid layout. Having tons of different rendering options gets complex to explain to users and this option would really only affect for the case when it is a 2 zone layout.

Docs have how to create a custom layout

The introduction of the feature that displays the pixel size of zones when resizing for a custom one has helped solve this for me.

A mirroring option for any layout for dual-screen monitor users could still be ideal though.
