📝 Provide a description of the new feature

What is the expected behavior of the proposed feature? What is the scenario this would be used?
I am using PowerToys v0.22.0 and trying to use an overlay image saying "Camera not found" but it is being mirrored. I have to use an already mirrored image with the text in it for it to appear normal.

Image automatically mirrored in Google Meets:

It would be great if an option to mirror the selected overlay image could be added.

If you'd like to see this feature implemented, add a 👍 reaction to this post.

@Daksh777
as a temp workaround, mirror the image before using it.

@yuyoyuppe can you tell us why this is Prio-1? Or even a bug? It's Meets who mirrors things, that's not in "our" hands. Seeing this issue is more then a year old...

Besides, not all meeting software do the mirroring I believe.

@Jay-o-Way I guess we could introduce the mirror flag to the settings?

Well, did some Googling (yes, pun intented) and seen this:

Does Google Meet flip camera?

Yes and no. Google Meet does flip your camera feed but there is a catch to it — it only mirrors the video in the preview shown to you, your audience sees the unmirrored view. Google Meet does this so that people can see the video preview as they see in the mirror without it being too jarring for them.

However, Google Meet does not flip your video for the end-user. This means that even if text and items in your video preview might appear to be flipped to you, they are shown in the correct orientation to your meeting participants. This is a great boon for teachers and trainers that use Google Meet to convey important concepts to their meeting participants. This often involves the use of Whiteboards and charts which can lose their meaning if they are flipped in the video.

Also:

I JUST WANT TO LET YOU ALL KNOW ... you only THINK you have a problem.
The mirror image is only shown on the meeting owners screen. The attendees all see the correct image.
I just tested by doing a meeting with my wife (upstairs) and her computer shows the white image correctly while on on my screen it is reversed.

So, label #doesnt-apply
Definitely not a PowerToys issue.
