[Run] Allow filter out app results #3699

I also need this feature. Just now, I mistakenly selected "uninstall" XAMPP instead of running the program. Typed xampp and Enter without reading the full entry. Fortunately, it asked for UAC, and I canceled the uninstallation. |
How is this still not a thing? I get "Uninstall App" way more often than the actual apps. Hiding unwanted results and aliasing are without a doubt necessary features. Otherwise, why even have this? |
What's the status of this enhancement, we are now mid 2023, no update since 2021... |
I would love to see this feature implemented. I can't tell you how many times I have uninstalled Zoom. |
Yes, every program inexplicably adding their own uninstaller shortcuts to start menu, which then pop up in all the searches, often as first result, when we actually just use Apps & features to find those uninstallers... Of course we can find and delete all the shortcuts, but a simple word blacklist in PT Run would be much appreciated. |
+1 on this one. Maybe a specific ignorelist. For instance, when searching for 'notepad', I always get the old notepad.exe result first instead of the new store version. Same goes for teams and a bunch of other apps. Would really love to see this implemented, the last missing basic feature I think :) |

i also really need this, i have a vlc playlist called "all songs", i type "all" and only get uninstallation executables. i still want exact app matches to rate higher than files though, i just don't ever want to launch the uninstaller from powertoys. |
Please allow us to remove the search term "uninstall" from PowerRun. Why would I want to have these results and easily misclick. |
Summary of the new feature/enhancement
Sometimes it might be useful to filter out some apps/search result (maybe by regex for instance, or by context menu in the search results).
For example:
For instance here I personally don't want to see "Character Map", "Weather Windows App" and "Private Character Editor" because I never used them and not going to do so, but I see them in search results. It might be the issue would be fixed in the search result will be sorted somehow (by usage and weight).
