There's another issue on the tracker that's pretty much the same thing.
Description of the new feature / enhancement
I'm proposing a new feature for a more intuitive virtual desktop switching mechanism. Currently, Windows provides a linear method of transitioning between virtual desktops using
CTRL + WIN + LEFT/RIGHT
. While this is functional, it can be inefficient when users have several virtual desktops open.Proposed Solution:
I suggest enabling users to switch to specific virtual desktops using the
CTRL + ALT + NUMPAD
combination, with the numpad number corresponding to the virtual desktop number. This would function in a hash-based manner:CTRL + ALT + NUMPAD 1
=> Virtual Desktop 1CTRL + ALT + NUMPAD 2
=> Virtual Desktop 2Scenario when this would be used?
For example:
This approach would provide direct access, making it easier to remember which desktop is used for which purpose.
