Steps to reproduce

For many files, the preview is nothing more than an app icon and the file name. The actual file itself is not showing. Oddly enough, this is happening with Microsoft files only. PDF files (for example) work fine.

✔️ Expected Behavior

I expected to be able to see "into" the files, as per the attached file "Peek Example 3", which is a PDF.

❌ Actual Behavior

It's only showing file icons / names, as per the attached files "Peek Example 1" and "Peek Example 2".

Just FYI, if they are files with the MOTW (downloaded from the web), I've found that you have to unblock the file to get a preview for it.

Warning

Please be sure that the file is safe before doing this.

How to Unblock a File

1. (With the file selected), press ALT + ENTER,
2. then K then Enter to unblock the file.
   • You can also accomplish this by right-clicking the file, select Properties from the context menu, and check the option to unblock the file.
3. Then try to Preview it.
