This is great but, any chance it'll appear in the server list? |

I have set PUBLIC=1 in my docker-compose.yml file, I have:
Those are the ports given by
and ufw:
But still, cannot see my server in the list. What I don’t get is when I first spawned this server (the 2nd of February) it was listed but not anymore. Something changed ? I checked the source code and the |

Remember to add the server using port 2457, (1 above the port in docker-compose) and not 2456 as stated above in the screenshots :) |

Either way, I'm sure we'd all prefer it to show up in the server browser in-game, yet mine is still not showing up? I checked ports, everything is open, including my NAT. Here's my compose file.

Me too and I have the same issue. It seems to be quite an issue on valheim
side but I can't wrap my head around how this is not working. Cause
obviously they must now how to maintain a server list. I was wandering if
it's something to do with steam ports maybe?

Thank you very much for the effort and for your work!

… To be honest this sounds like some.jank code form the Valheim devs as my
scripts only proxy to running the executable with flags. I'll try without
the public variable attached and provide some feedback.

The only thing is that I'm sure some servers were appearing before and not
anymore. Don't know if anything has been changed on valheim side. Maybe we
could try not to provide the -public switch just to see what happens

seemed to work.
I am beginning to wonder if this is a problem with Valheim and not this
tool. I am see a lot of articles with people experiencing the same issue.

Could be due to this change on their side yes

… It looks like they dropped support for the -public flag? Additionally,
outside of this repo it looks like this is a huge issue with the Valheim
server browser in game. I suspect we are not seeing our servers because of
the tweaks they made in recent patches to the server list.

the Also, the server seems to randomly listen to a different port in the range 2456-2458, it's not 2456 all the time. If you can't directly connect to one at some point, test the other two. |

27xxx looks definitely like the range of steam ports range.

… the -public flag is not mentioned in the (incredibly small) documentation
available with the server. I'm not sure if it was ever documented or it got
removed. If you check the state of the box it seems there is a listening
TCP port open in the range of 27xxx, which is in the range of steamcmd, but
nothing responds if you telnet into it. I wonder if the devs are doing some
refactoring in this area and things broke?

I'm trying to get this up and running on Digital Ocean. I've allowed all three ports both on the Droplet level and in Ubuntu. I can add the server on port 2457 but it won't connect, gives me an error " is not currently playing on any game server". I was the randomly able to connect on 2456, but it seems intermittent. The game server is connected in the logs. Very strange... EDIT: Looks after you add it on 2457, it connects to 2456 afterwards. It seems to be working now, will keep an eye on it. |

probably not the most prudent, but would opening the steam port range 270XX potentially resolve this? never seen the server pop up on the public list |

what if we can see our server on steam, but it will not connect or show in game? |

So you can not see your server in the server list?
Fear not my friend! You can direct connect to your server by following the steps below:
Open Steam, click View, then click Servers
Click Favorites and Add A Server
Enter the
ip:port
of your server and click Add This Address To FavoritesFinally, click refresh and double click on your server
