Integration with Plaid

I see this is a great app, would it be possible to integrate this with Plaid. The reason being, its generally impossible to any person to go to the website and keep adding expenses 1 day at a time and it has to be a habit (Most of us are lazy) I feel we would want to have an automated way to track these expenses. one account at a time.

P.S. I am new to Ruby and I am exploring the repo right now, just came across a downside that I wanted to discuss, I would probably try to do this on my local fork and if it works out, will share with the community. 🥇

Unfortunately won't be possible in a self-hosted environment has Plaid require annual, enterprise contracts to use their service.

Most (major) banks employ OAuth, really? That's news to me.

Honestly, a solution here should be figured out as this for use while owning your data is what can be a deal breaker... I have a SaaS for business needs, but also partly b/c there are generally no good FOSS options that also do the bank import side.

Quite frankly, if I have to pay a subscription for a bank "import" API while hosting my own version, I would.

It is asinine that you have to give up power to get TradFi data imports...

To be fair, I think this would be a great integration to have. It was relatively simple to get approved for Plaid for the development environment, which includes the 100 items mentioned above. While I haven't encountered any differences from the dataset from the full version, even if they do exist, I think Plaid is still a great connection to have, simply due to the vast amount of banks available, where a majority of banks other than the top few are supported without OAuth IIRC. Currently, I use Plaid with a custom-written importer, which I wouldn't rather maintain and would love to see in maybe.

Not via Plaid. There are other options we're working on, though.
