Summary:
Automation engine for performing tasks based on actions/events inside Focalboard.

How important this is to me and why:
Medium to High

Use cases:

  1. Trigger other web services based on actions/events inside Focalboard.
  2. Easily automate workflows/processes involving other API enabled applications.

Additional context / similar features:
I see that as a first version of this, just having the possibility to send web requests for triggering other services would be enough.

Relevant feedback from this thread and this Input form idea for an IT Help Desk use case:

Once they submit the ticket, it could be auto-assigned or it could go into a pre-defined Board for someone to grab it.

On the backend, not sure how much functionality the admins would have but it would be cool if there were some customizable options, like if the Ticket Category is X then assign to X. So if it's a "Password Reset", assign to John , if it's a weird random issue assign to Jane, etc.

Feedback from Katie on this thread:

When I move a card into a certain status, I want to kick off a Playbook. For example - we have a lot of ideas for features or integrations. I want to be able to collect the ideas and when move into committing to building them, then I want to kick off the Playbook and create a channel for a feature lifecycle.

Sorry to bump this, this is the only thing that is keeping me from switching: rules and automation on trello is excellent, having the ability to do similar things would be incredible :O
